Developer and Data Management Professional 

Monte is a system/data engineering consultant. He has over 30 years of experience working on data and system integration projects in both the retail and insurance disciplines. This time includes spending many years working on Data Warehousing projects, utilizing multiple platforms, and multiple database types. Monte’s technical expertise involves the following programming languages (C#, Python, Scala and very well known for SQL), ETL Tools (SSIS, Informatica) and Databases (SQL Server, Hadoop/Hive, Yellowbrick, Teradata, and DB2).  Monte is now developing his expertise in the cloud technologies as well. He has passed 7 of the 9 Databricks certification exams and he was recently hired by Databricks as a contract Trainer.   

Experience

• KVAT Food City – Senior Data Engineer
  • Analyzed the data in the AS400 MidMountain System using a SQL Server linked server to find anomalies in the purchase order, receipts and invoices data as well as well as other sources needed for our interfaces. Designed and Coded SSIS packages and SQL Server Stored Procedures to pull data from AS400 MidMountain System to Load an Oracle Financials System.
• Medical Mutual of Ohio (2) – Senior EDW Data Engineer / Technical Lead
  • Used Scala, Python and sparkSQL to code data integrations and fixes for both the Hive and SQL Server EDW databases. Also, Helped design the rules and logic for the mass vendor intake process for MMO using Databricks/Delta Live tables. The logic for this proof of concept was written using Databricks, Python and SQL, with the data stored in Azure Blob storage. Lead, Analyzed, Designed and Coded the logic for the One Voice project. This process was written using Databricks Delta Live Tables with Python and SQL, utilizing the mass vendor intake process mentioned above.
• BMW Financials (2) – Senior EDW Data Engineer / Technical Lead
  • Designed and Developed Meta Data Repository Software. Tool allowed users to update metadata about EDW inputs, outputs, and transformations and it generated ETL (Informatica) mappings as well as data table layouts. The backend database for this tool is stored on SQL Server 2012. This was a .NET, WPF application with Fluent NHibernate as the ORM. 
• Express, LLC (2) – Senior EDW Data Engineer / Technical Lead / Application Manager
  • Designed and Coded a PIM system for Express that would take data from Island Pacific (AS400) and allow users in the ECommerce area to enhance the data with copy and attribution information. Then the data was sent to both the fulfillment system and the front-end system. Also, A Technical lead and application manager for over 30 applications, including the EDW, the PIM ECOMM System, BizTalk Implementation, Real time reporting from the NCR POS system, Reflexis and others.
